Home of the Throckmorton family since 1409. It holds a unique place in English history with its close connections to the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. It is one of the last remaining Roman Catholic homes in the country to retain its historic treasures, one of the best collections of portraits and memorabilia from one family in Tudor times. The 25 acres of gardens include a walled garden, bog garden, orchard, formal garden, riverside walks and more. There is also a restaurant and coffee shop, picnic area and shop.
